BODY ACCEPTANCE, BODY KINDNESS, FAT LIBERATION
For too long our culture has equated the size of one’s body to their health or value. This is a myth that is not only untrue but can be dangerous to those of us who are either fat-identifying or existing in larger bodies. Discrimination based on body size poses both physical and psychological threats. Worse yet, this bias is pervasive among medical and helping professionals. Perhaps someone you’ve entrusted with your care has caused you harm by perpetuating unexamined anti-fat tropes. It’s no wonder that seeking psychological or medical care is such a daunting task, one that many avoid entirely.
We are so glad you’re here. Our therapists align with the principles of HAES® (Health at Every Size). Our therapists are committed to providing respectful, size-inclusive care that acknowledges and works to eradicate harmful anti-fat bias.
Our compassionate, trauma-informed approach seeks to promote healing from experiencing discrimination. We also offer psychoeducation to assist in eliminating internalized and cultural anti-fat bias. There are many paths toward healing. We would be honored to assist you in finding yours. Let’s begin your journey to self-acceptance and enduring joy, regardless of size or ability.
