Lizzie Evans, she/her

Growth often asks us to sit with complexity, to hold multiple truths at once, and to meet ourselves with greater compassion. There are moments when “good enough” truly is enough. Along the way, humor, authenticity, and real connection can become steady anchors, helping you move toward a life that feels more like your own.

I approach therapy with a deep belief in each person’s capacity for change and healing. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship, a space where you can feel supported, understood, and able to show up as you are. Together, we will explore what matters most to you, make sense of the patterns that may be holding you in place, and develop ways of coping that feel both effective and sustainable.

I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling at New York University. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Psychology from Georgetown University, where my interest in identity, meaning-making, and human behavior first took shape. As someone born and raised in New York City, I bring a deep respect for the complexity, diversity, and lived experiences of the communities I work with.

Before entering the mental health field, I spent over six years working in New York City public schools as a teacher and instructional leader. I worked closely with children and families navigating stress, transitions, and uncertainty, and witnessed how emotional experiences shape the ways we come to understand ourselves and relate to others. I have also worked as an executive function coach with adolescents and adults, supporting the development of skills around organization, planning, and self-regulation. These experiences continue to inform my understanding of how patterns such as anxiety, perfectionism, and self-criticism can take hold, and how they can begin to shift.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy cooking, getting immersed in a good fantasy or mystery novel, playing sports, listening to musicals, and seeking out small pockets of nature in the city.
